Useful sections of the site include the information about the Societies Journal Environmental History, a membership directory, and general online resources. The site is also the first stop for information about ASEH’s annual conferences and the awards of the society as well as funding for environmental history research.

 

Association of East Asian Environmental History

 

 

The website of the Association for East Asian Environmental History (AEAEH) provides basic information about organisation such as membership, the bi-annual conferences and its aims. Other useful parts of the site are the publications and news sections.

 

 

Australian Forest History Society

 

 

The Australian Forest History Society promotes the advance of historical understanding of human interactions with Australian forest and woodland environments. European Society for Environmental History

 

 

The European Society for Environmental History aims to promote environmental history in Europe and provides a platform of communication between European scholars working in the field. The site presents information about the activities of the society such as membership, the bi-annual conferences, The Turku Book Award and its book series. Forest History Society (USA)

 

 

The Forest History Society links the past to the future by identifying, collecting, preserving, interpreting, and disseminating information on the history of interactions between people, forests, and their related resources – timber, water, soil, forage, fish and wildlife, recreation, and scenic or spiritual values. The focus of the site is from a North American perspective although within a global context. Established in 1946 and incorporated as a non-profit educational institution in 1955, it is affiliated with Duke University.

The website contains rich resources in forest history including digital collections providing direct access to a selection of the rich primary source materials held by the Forest History Society. These collections include a photo archive as well as oral history interviews. The site also features a very comprehensive environmental history bibliography including over 40,000 annotated citations to books, articles, and dissertations published from 1633 to the present. Finally, the site also features a blog on forest history.

 

International Consortium of Environmental History Organizations

 

 

The main aim of the International Consortium of Environmental History Organizations (ICEHO) is to foster international communication among organisations active in the wider field of environmental history. The website provides news about events and conferences organised by ICEHO members. The main focus of ICEHO is the organisation of the World Congress of Environmental History that takes place every 5 years and the site’s main objective is to provide information about these events.

 

 

International Water History Association

 

 

The International Water History Association (IWHA) aims to encourage, promote, and foster historical understanding of, and research in, the relationship between water and human societies. The IWHA website provides information about the organisation, membership, conferences, IWHA Prize and the Journal of Water History.

 

 

Latin American and Caribbean Society for Environmental History (Solcha)

 

 

SOLCHA stands for Sociedad Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Historia Ambiental. The SOLCHA website provides links to previous meetings and information about future conferences as well as other relevant resources. Note that the site is in Spanish.
